Pro tip: I used to sleeve every single card in my collection

For the first 5 years I was into board games, I sleeved everything. Every Dominion card, every tiny chit in a Kickstarter game, even the player boards. I thought I was protecting my investment. But after I spent like 30 bucks on sleeves for a game I played twice, I started questioning it. Now I only sleeve games that get heavy table time or have hidden traitor mechanics where marked cards matter. I still keep sleeves around for trading card games but for my shelf of board games, bare cards feel fine. Does anyone else go through phases with sleeving or do you stick to one rule?
