Unpopular opinion: Sorting board games by box art ruins the flow of game night

I spent a weekend rearranging my shelves to group games by visual style. Now picking a game feels like a puzzle no one asked for. What is your take on storage that helps instead of hinders play?

Honestly, what if sorting by box art actually sparks more conversation and excitement? Tbh, when games are grouped visually, it can create a themed vibe that makes the choice feel intentional. Ngl, turning selection into a small puzzle might be the fun start your game night needs.

Watched my buddy sort his collection by box art last month. It took forever, but we ended up arguing about which game had the ugliest cover instead of playing anything.

Miles is onto something with that "small puzzle" idea, but I'd take it one step further and never actually play. I'd spend the whole night just pulling out the truly awful covers to groan at, like that weird photoshop on the original Mega Man box. My friends would leave and I'd still be there sorting.
