inQuestion about the battery life on my old iPod Nano
Wow, @wyatt_shah85, how long did that new battery actually last on a full charge? I'm curious if the real world use matched that old rating after the swap, or if it fell short pretty quick.

Yeah but "the real cost is time" is a huge deal when you're already working two jobs lol.

inRant: A 2006 Ford Escape blend door actuator took me three hours
Guess you've never met the special ones, @adam675. Some of those dashes are held on by hopes and prayers.

inMy old trowel handle split right in half during a dig in Tucson last month.
Hard packed soil near the Santa Cruz River is no joke. I had a trowel snap on me like that once, and the sound it made (this sad little crack) still haunts me a bit.

inPSA: I thought those magnetic drawer catch things were a total gimmick until I installed a set in a client's kitchen in Boulder last month.
Wasn't there a whole article about how this kind of thing is actually good for kid brain development? Like, the article said that when a toddler's expected result (drawer opens) doesn't happen, it forces them to update their little mental model of how the world works. They have to problem-solve, even if it's just slamming the drawer in frustration. I read it was way better for them than a totally boring, smooth environment where everything always works the same.
