A guy at our Omaha book club said my discussion questions were basically just plot summaries, and I think he was right
We meet at a coffee shop on Farnam Street every other Thursday, 9 of us, and I used to run the whole talk by asking stuff like "what did you think of chapter 6?" After the meeting in January, Marcus pulled me aside and said my questions never got past what happened, they never touched why it mattered. So now I pick one moment in the book and ask everyone to argue about what a character should have done instead. It works way better but I'm running out of ideas, how do you all get people past just retelling the story?
