My book club hit 50 meetings before I realized we had a problem

We hit 50 meetings last Tuesday and I noticed we've argued about the same 3 books for 2 years now. Everyone keeps picking safe bestsellers instead of something that actually makes us think. Has anyone else's group gotten stuck in a rut like this?

Wait, you mean I've been spending two years arguing about whether "The Midnight Library" is actually deep or just pretending to be deep, and nobody else is tired of it either? I feel personally attacked because my book club just hit meeting 35 and we're already circling the same three Colleen Hoover novels like vultures.
