My cousin told me to pick a 'safe' book for our club, but our best talk was about a weird sci-fi novel.

Safe books give everyone a fair shot to join in. Not everyone has time for weird sci-fi with made up worlds and rules. A straightforward story about real people can spark just as much talk, maybe more. It’s about finding common ground, not just what one person likes.

Honestly, that's a solid point about making reading less of a high-stakes hobby for busy people. Even @phoenixa64's airport books serve a real purpose by giving folks an easy way to connect over a shared experience. It's less about the book itself and more about the talk it starts.

So you're the reason airport bookstores exist.
