That $40 book club debate guide I bought was basically a pamphlet

I ordered this 'Ultimate Book Club Debate Starter Kit' online thinking it would help us have better discussions. Paid $40 for it and it showed up as 12 pages of basic questions like 'What did you think of the ending?' Nothing we couldn't have come up with over a beer. Wasted a whole meeting trying to use it before we gave up. Anyone else get burned by those overpriced book club resources?

But isn't it kind of obvious that's what you were paying for?

Man, you got scammed hard. I bought a "literary analysis deck" for 25 bucks and it was just a stack of index cards with quotes from the book on them. We could have done that ourselves in about ten minutes. Feels like these companies know book club people are desperate for something different so they just throw random stuff together. Sorry that happened to you, it's a bummer when you get hyped up for something and it completely flops.
