Update: our club picked a 700 page book and only 2 people finished it by meeting night
The librarian told me only 2 of our 11 members made it past page 300 of the book we voted on back in March, so now I'm the bad guy for saying maybe we should pick shorter books, and honestly I need to know if other clubs actually finish what they vote on or if everyone just fakes it.

Lol I'm in a club where we spent a whole month on a book and I still don't know how it ends, so you're not alone. Honestly at this point I just show up for the snacks and the drama. Picking shorter books isn't being the bad guy, it's just being real.
