My uncle said to always use PVA glue for endpapers, but I learned the hard way
He's been binding for 30 years, so I listened. I glued some marbled paper ends to a text block last month, and the whole thing warped like crazy as it dried. Turns out, with thinner decorative papers, a wheat paste mix gives way less moisture and prevents that curl. I had to redo the whole book. Anyone have a good wheat paste recipe they swear by for delicate stuff?

Learned the hard way" is right, that's the worst. I've had projects ruined by too much moisture from glue. A good wheat paste mix is a total game changer for thin papers.

Wait, did you use the paste right out of the fridge or let it warm up first? I've found that letting it hit room temp makes the moisture spread way more even and stops that curl from happening in the first place.
