Tried wheat paste vs PVA on my first full leather rebind and the difference was obvious by day 2
Honestly I grabbed a jar of Jade 403 for a 19th century cookbook I picked up in Ann Arbor since everyone swears by it, but the boards started cupping on me by the second day. Switched to a wheat paste mix at about 3 parts water to 1 part flour and the whole thing lay flat and the spine felt way more flexible. Has anyone else had PVA go stiff on them like that, or did I just mix it too thick?
