I finally got my hands on a variegated Monstera after saving up for 6 months, and the first leaf it put out was completely green.

Honestly, I was so bummed because the seller in Tampa swore it was a stable mutation, but my plant friend said sometimes they revert if the light isn't bright enough, so has anyone else managed to get the variegation to come back on one of these?

Feel for you, that's such a gut punch after waiting and saving. My cousin had something similar happen with a pink princess philodendron, bought it as a tiny thing and the first few leaves had barely any pink at all. She got super stubborn about it, moved it right under a grow light and basically ignored it for months, and then bam, the next leaf had this crazy splash of color. It's not a sure thing, but sometimes they just need a serious kick of light to remember what they're supposed to be doing.

Yeah, a strong grow light can shock the color right back into them, right?
