Cheap $30 cordless drill I babied for 2 months actually outlasted my $140 one
My expensive drill's chuck started wobbling after 6 weeks of light work, but the cheap one has been fine since March. Anyone else notice the budget stuff holding up better than the name brands lately?
Two months is not really enough time to call it. Any drill can survive a few months of light work, even the junk ones. The chuck wobble on your expensive one sounds like a bad chuck or a bent shaft, which can happen to any brand. That is a defect, not proof that cheap beats name brand. The real test is how it holds up after a year of hard use, and that is when the cheap ones usually start falling apart. Bearings wear out, switches die, and the plastic gears strip. Come back and tell us how the $30 one is doing next spring after you have really leaned on it.
