Got caught in a sudden downpour on a job in Seattle last week.
We were laying a garden wall and the rain washed out a whole section of fresh mortar. Had to tear it down and start over the next day. What's your go-to plan when the weather turns bad on a project?

My Seattle rain story is just part of a bigger pattern of small setbacks.

Weather turning bad is the worst. A solid tarp setup and checking the hourly forecast can save a ton of rework. It's all about having a quick backup plan ready to go.

Last summer I had a tarp over a deck project and a sudden wind gust ripped the grommets right out. Learned my lesson about using actual tarp bungees and not just rope. Now I keep a separate kit with extra poles and heavy duty clips in my truck. Checking the radar every few hours is key, but having that gear on hand lets you react in like five minutes flat.
