Got stuck in a dry creek bed near Moab and learned the hard way about approach angles

Been there, scraped that. My wake-up call was a stupidly shallow ditch that somehow caught my rear diff. Everyone talks about approach and departure, but nobody warns you about your breakover angle until you're bellied out on a mild hump. Had to get a buddy to yank me sideways. Measured it later and it was pathetic, way worse than I thought. Now I carry a cheap angle finder in the glove box for quick checks on the trail.

Just pulled $85k out of my house in Denver to pay off my business debt

Wait, they actually put the timeshare pitch on paper with numbers and everything? That's wild, they must have had a whole fake spreadsheet ready to go. It's crazy how a few neat columns can make a terrible idea look so solid. I'd probably stare at it and nod along too, to be honest.

Overheard a client say they 'fixed' their lens with a YouTube video and a toothpick

So you've got a stuck aperture blade, right? People see a video where someone pokes it with a toothpick to unstick it, because it's cheap and handy. The logic is terrible though, because wood splinters and leaves bits inside the lens. If your aperture is stuck, you need the right tools to clean the old grease off, not jam something in there. That "fix" just guarantees you'll need a full repair later.

I was looking into the JFK files and found a detail about the 'magic bullet' that made me stop

The Zapruder film shows the head snap forward before going back. That detail alone made me question the official story. It just doesn't look like a shot from behind.

Shoutout to the barber in Portland who showed me how to use a hot towel before a straight razor shave

That's a cool trick for sure, but honestly, a hot towel can sometimes make the skin too soft. A good barber should check your skin type first, because for some guys it can lead to more irritation. The prep is important, but the real skill is in the razor work itself.
