I finally switched from a string line to a laser level for long runs

After fighting a sagging line on a 40 foot garden wall last month, I borrowed my neighbor's rotary laser and it took me 10 minutes to set up what usually takes an hour, so has anyone else made the switch and gone back?

Hate to say it but I went right back to the string line after a month with the laser. Lasers are great until the sun hits the receiver wrong or you forget the batteries and you're stuck squinting at a tiny dot that might as well be invisible. Plus that thing costs like 300 bucks and I can replace my whole string setup for 15 dollars at the hardware store. Yeah it takes longer but I can trust it, and honestly the extra setup time gives me a minute to double check my grades and stakes. You do you but I'll keep my saggy line and my sanity.

Ain't it funny how the cheap old way just never lets you down?
