That moment I realized my level was the problem, not my wall
Last month I was fighting a corner for 2 hours, kept getting lippage no matter what I did. Turns out my 6 foot level had a bend in it from getting dropped on a job site in Pittsburgh 3 years ago. Has anyone else blamed their technique for weeks only to find out a tool was lying to you the whole time?
Borrowed my buddy's 4 foot level after fighting the same corner for days and it turned out mine was out by almost a quarter inch. Felt like such an idiot but also weirdly relieved it wasn't me. Now I check my levels against a known good one before every big job.
It's funny how often the problem is the tool and not us, and we just assume we're messing up. @oliver719 that kind of thing happens everywhere, a bad scale, a slow clock, a dull blade, and we blame ourselves for way too long. Check the basics first and half your problems disappear.
