Appreciation post: My weekly food spend hit $37.50 for the first time
I tracked every single grocery trip for a month and found I was spending way too much on snacks and single meals. By planning five dinners around a big pack of chicken thighs and a 10 pound bag of potatoes, I got my cost down to that number. Has anyone else found a specific staple that just makes the budget work?

Honestly that's a crazy good number to hit. Tbh I'm curious about the chicken and potato plan though. Did you get sick of eating the same base ingredients all week, or did you find ways to switch up the flavors enough?

Remember my buddy who tried the rice and beans thing? He lasted three days before he caved and ordered a pizza. The trick is you gotta have at least two different sauces or seasonings to rotate, or it gets old fast. He learned that the hard way.
