My grandma watched me dump a $6 bag of frozen shrimp and asked why I was 'paying for water'
She grew up in Corpus Christi buying shrimp straight off the boat for a dollar a pound back in the 70s, so she thinks the frozen kind is a scam. Turns out the frozen bag is still cheaper per serving than the fresh counter at my HEB, so I did the math on a napkin to prove it. Anyone else find that the cheaper option is sometimes the one that feels fancier?
