My sister swore meal prep Sundays were the only way, but my weeknights say otherwise

So my sister kept pushing this whole meal prep Sunday thing, saying it saves money and time. She'd spend 3 hours boiling chicken and rice, then pack 5 identical containers. I tried it twice and by Wednesday I was tossing half of it because I got bored eating the same thing. Meanwhile I've been cooking fresh each night using what's on sale, and my food bill for two people came to $82 last week. Her way probably works if you like routine, but I think it backfires when you waste food from burnout. Has anyone else ditched bulk prep for a more flexible dinner plan, or am I the odd one here?

$82 for two people sounds normal, not some big win.

lol @xena_kim so what's actually driving that bill, sales or skipping meals?
