Appreciation post: That $40 weather stripping I almost didn't buy
I dropped $40 on new weather stripping for my front door last month in Chicago, figuring it was a waste since my heating bill was already high. Turns out that single strip cut my draft and dropped my gas bill by $60 the next month. Anybody else put off small fixes like this and kick yourself when you finally do it?

Small home fixes are a weird thing where our brains treat $40 as too much until we see the $60 we could have kept. That pattern shows up everywhere, like skipping oil changes or ignoring a leaky faucet because the fix seems annoying. Your mileage may vary on the exact numbers, but the lesson usually holds: minor prevention almost always beats major correction down the road.

Am I the only one who's ignored a leaky faucet for three months just to prove @kelly.daniel right eventually?
