Dropped $120 on a chest freezer from Facebook Marketplace and it's already paying for itself
Bought it 3 weeks ago in Phoenix and I've already frozen $80 worth of chicken and ground beef from Costco sales, so is it crazy that I'm now checking marketplace every day for a second one?
30 bucks a month just from one freezer? That's wild. My garage in July is basically an oven so I never even thought about the power draw on top of the 120. Guess I'm dragging it inside before summer hits.
Idk man, the real hidden cost isn't the freezer itself, it's the power bill in Phoenix. A chest freezer running in a 110 degree garage is gonna work way harder than one in an air conditioned house, so keep that in mind before you stack up five of them out there. My buddy had his in the garage and his summer bill jumped like 30 bucks a month just from that thing. Throw it inside if you can, or at least shade it. Still way cheaper than letting meat go bad, but the math changes a bit.
