Groceries every 2 weeks beat weekly runs for us, here's the math

I used to hit the store every Sunday and drop $180 without thinking. Then my buddy in Austin showed me his biweekly system and I was like nah, no way that works. We tried it for 3 months and our average went down to $265 per trip but we're only going twice a month now. That's $530 a month vs $720 before, and we waste way less produce because we actually plan meals around what we bought. The trick is making one big list and sticking to it, plus we do a quick Wednesday stop for milk and bread only, under $15. Has anyone else had luck with stretching their grocery trips out longer?
