My grocery bill dropped by $40 a week after I stopped buying lunch at work
For about six months, I was grabbing a sandwich and chips from the deli near my shop almost every day. Last month, I started packing leftovers or making a big batch of chili on Sundays. The first week I did it, I saved $38.75. It's crazy how a simple habit change adds up so fast. Anyone else have a small switch that made a big dent in their weekly spending?

That part about it adding up so fast is so real. I did the same thing with coffee last year, buying one every morning on my way in. Switched to making a big pot at home and putting it in a thermos. It felt like such a tiny thing but after a month I had an extra hundred bucks just sitting there. It's wild how those daily buys trick you.

My friend Sarah did the math on her smoothie habit last spring, and it was over $80 a month. I totally get what you mean, paige_ellis59. It feels like nothing at the time, just a few dollars. But when you actually stop and add it all up, it's a real shock. That's money just slipping away without you even noticing. Making the switch at home feels like finding free money you didn't know you had.
