My grocery bill dropped under $300 a month and I didn't even feel like I was trying
I was just looking at my bank stuff from the last three months and saw the number. I used to spend close to $500 a month on food for just me, easy. The change came from a couple small things I started doing without thinking it was a big deal. I stopped buying pre-cut veggies and just get whole ones now, which saves a ton. I also started planning meals around what's on sale at my local Kroger that week. The biggest thing was I stopped buying snacks at the gas station on my way home from work. It adds up so fast. I guess all those little choices just stacked up without me noticing. I'm kind of shocked it made that much of a difference. Has anyone else had a small change that ended up saving way more than you thought it would?

My buddy started bringing his own coffee in a thermos instead of hitting the drive-thru every morning. He figured he was saving a few bucks, but after a month he checked his card statement and it was over a hundred dollars less. He couldn't believe all those five dollar charges disappeared that fast. It really is the small stuff that creeps up on you.

Small stuff that creeps up on you" is a bit dramatic. It's just coffee. A hundred bucks over a whole month isn't some huge shock. That's like three bucks a day. Not exactly life changing money.
