Serious question, the free budget class at the library in Dayton got me to finally track cash in envelopes
I went in expecting a sales pitch for some app, but the guy running it just handed out cheap envelopes and had us write our actual spending on them. Now I'm curious if anyone else tried cash envelopes and how long it stuck before you went back to cards.
Curious what actually broke the streak when it did break. Was it a big one-off bill that didn't fit the envelope, or did it just slowly fade after a few weeks of pulling cash out? Also wondering if the guy covered what to do when you run out early in the month, because that seems like the part nobody explains. Did he have you put anything aside for the stuff that gets auto-paid?
