Appreciation post: my $40 paper cutter saved my yearly setup

I was trying to cut inserts for my new journal by hand and it was a mess. The edges were jagged and I wasted three sheets of nice paper. I bought a basic 12-inch guillotine style cutter for about forty bucks. It cut my setup time in half and everything looks clean. I can make custom dashboards and pocket pages easily now. What other basic tools have made a big difference for your journal?

Get a decent hole punch. It's a game changer for making your own inserts.

That's a great find, though just a heads up, those guillotine cutters can get a little off over time. A metal ruler and a sharp craft knife are a solid backup for when it does.
