Got told my weekly spread was 'too busy' and it actually helped

My friend looked at my bullet journal last week and straight up said, 'Dude, I can't even find your tasks in all this.' I was doing these super detailed weekly logs with color coding, trackers for water and mood, a mini habit grid, and a quote section, all crammed into one spread. I thought it was organized, but she pointed out I had like five different highlighters going and my actual to-do list was scribbled in the corner. I felt a bit defensive at first, but she was right. So this week, I cut it down to just the days of the week and my three main tasks for each day, using one pen and a single light gray highlighter for urgent stuff. It's way cleaner and I'm actually getting things done instead of just decorating. Has anyone else had to simplify their layouts after getting some honest feedback?

Too busy" for a to-do list? It's not that deep.

Totally get that! I used to make these insane monthly trackers with washi tape and stickers, and my husband finally asked what half the symbols even meant. I switched to a basic two page spread with just appointments and a short grocery list, and it's like a weight lifted off.

Your husband actually asked what the symbols meant? Mine just nods and backs away slowly. The simpler system sounds like a total game changer for real. Sometimes we just need to let the fancy stuff go.
