My new grinder blade shattered mid-cut on a ribeye yesterday

I was breaking down a whole ribeye primals for a customer order around 10 AM and halfway through a cut the blade just blew apart. Sent shards flying across the cutting board and one even nicked my forearm. Had to stop everything, clean the whole station, and swap to my backup blade which was dull. Took me 20 extra minutes to finish and the customer had to wait. Has anyone else had a blade fail like that out of nowhere or was mine just a dud?

Cant believe that blade just exploded like that mid cut. Those things are supposed to handle way more stress than a ribeye, even a primal. Hope your arm is okay, that could've been way worse.

@ericgonzalez you said "those things are supposed to handle way more stress than a ribeye" - were you using a blade that was already showing any wear or chips before that cut? Cause I've seen guys push old blades way past their limit on primals and get surprised when they fail. Also, what brand was it? Some of the cheaper ones on Amazon have been known to shatter like that if they hit a bone wrong.
