Bought a $25 canvas bag in 2011, just now figured out the strap trick

I've been hauling this same Duluth pack everywhere for 13 years, grocery runs, weekend trips, even moved across the country with it twice. The straps always slipped off my shoulder no matter how tight I got them. Last week I was at a bus stop in Austin and some guy pointed out I had the chest clip way too low. Moved it up near my collarbone and it rides completely different now, zero slippage. All this time I thought the bag was just poorly designed. Has anyone else had a fix like this that made a 10+ year old piece of gear feel brand new?
