A client in Denver said my drawer boxes looked 'chunky' and now I get it
They pointed out how 1/2" ply sides with a 3/4" front felt heavy, so I switched to 3/8" for the boxes and it looks way more refined. Anyone else tweak their standard dimensions after a specific piece of feedback?

Oh man, that's so true. It's wild how a tiny change in proportion can totally change the feel of something. I see it all the time with furniture legs that are just a bit too thick, or picture frames with too wide a border. That little bit of extra material really does make things look blocky instead of clean.

But that blocky look can feel way more solid and safe than something too thin and flimsy.

Actually, that chunky look can be a real selling point for some people. It gives a feeling of quality and durability that thinner materials just can't match. Calling it "blocky" misses the point of a solid, lasting piece.
