Customer asked me to fix a drawer, then critiqued my sawdust

Had a lady in Portland call me out to adjust a sticky drawer on her kitchen island, and I swear she watched every move I made like a hawk. I pulled the drawer out, sanded the glide, and she goes, 'You know, my late husband would've used a plane for that.' I told her a block plane would take too long for a 20 minute job, and she just nodded and handed me a $40 tip anyway. She even asked if I could teach her grandson some basics, so I spent an extra hour showing him how to check for square, best part of my week honestly. Anyone else get armchair advice from clients while you're mid-fix?

...the tip and the grandson made up for the commentary, that's for sure. Some folks just gotta prove they know stuff.
