My old boss used to hand-cut every single drawer dovetail

Now my shop uses a CNC for them, which felt weird at first. The change came after we landed a 32-unit condo project in Tampa that needed identical boxes fast. Do you still cut yours by hand, or has the trade pushed you toward machines too?

That "human touch" thing @the_casey mentioned is interesting. Do you think clients can actually tell the difference in the final piece, or are they just buying the story?

My uncle's shop in Maine still hand cuts every joint for their custom boats. The clients there pay a premium for that visible craft, and it lets them fix odd angles machines can't handle. That human touch is the whole product for some markets.
