Yeah that steamy kettle spot warped my good maple board last year (classic kitchen surprise, right @abbyt29?). Left it flipped on the counter for a week with a heavy cookbook on top, and it mostly went back to flat. The weight really seemed to help more than just flipping it alone. Still a tiny bit of a curve, but it sits fine now without rocking.

Why waste time on complicated checks? A strong lens and good light show most cold joints fast. Chasing ghosts usually means missing the obvious stuff.

Oof, that sounds so frustrating after all that work. I totally get how a cool idea can turn into a daily hassle real quick. Had a similar thing with some extra long straps on a bag that kept catching on stuff. It's the worst when you put in the time and then the thing just fights you every time you try to use it. Major bummer, but hey, at least you learned something for next time. Solidarity on the craft fail.
