TIL I used to mess up my drawer fronts by sanding BEFORE assembly
For like 5 years straight I would sand every single piece before I put the drawer box together. Then I'd get it all glued up and realize the front has tiny scuffs from my clamps or a little glue squeeze-out that I couldn't fix without taking it apart. Finally last spring after ruining a set of maple drawers for a kitchen in Oak Park, my old boss saw what I was doing and just laughed. He said 'you sand the whole box AFTER it's built, dummy.' That one tip saved me like 2 hours per drawer and the finish looks way better now. Anyone else have a basic technique they did backwards for way too long?

Watched a whole YouTube series before realizing I was installing crown molding upside down for months.

Man I felt this in my soul... I did the same thing with baseboard corners, watched like four videos and still cut every single one wrong. Had to go buy extra lumber twice because I kept messing up the angles. By the time I figured out the miter saw was set backwards I had already glued half the room together.
