A case manager told me I was filling out my forms too vague

She said I needed to write down exact symptoms like 'can't stand for more than 10 minutes' instead of just 'mobility issues'. Has anyone else gotten this kind of advice and did it actually help your SSDI application?

lol honestly that case manager was right to call you out. if you just write 'mobility issues' the SSA reviewer has zero concrete evidence to work with and they'll likely deny you cause it sounds like you're making it up. you gotta be super specific about your limitations or they'll assume you can still do some kind of work.

Start by writing down exactly what you can and can't do in a normal day. Instead of "mobility issues," say "can't walk more than one block without needing to sit down for 10 minutes" or "unable to lift a gallon of milk without dropping it." I made that mistake myself and got denied the first time. You have to paint the picture for them in plain terms, like "I can't stand at the kitchen counter long enough to wash dishes because I get dizzy after 5 minutes." Those specifics give the reviewer something real to work with instead of a vague excuse. It makes all the difference.
