A regional center worker told me my work history packet was 30 pages too long and she was right
Two years ago I was helping my brother apply for SSDI through the Oakland regional center and I put together a 45 page packet. Every doctor note, every old pay stub, everything I could find. The intake worker called me after 3 weeks and said flat out "nobody is going to read this, we need a one page summary on top and the rest as tabs." I was annoyed at first because I thought more paper meant a stronger case. But she was right. I redid it with a cover page listing his conditions, dates, and doctors in plain bullets, then divided the proof into 4 labeled sections. He got approved in 5 months instead of the 14 we were told to expect. Now I tell everyone in Alameda County to lead with one page or the file just sits there. Has anyone else been told to cut their packet down like this?

Heard a disability lawyer say the same thing on a podcast, one page or it gets skipped.
