Finally got my EDD payment after 4 months of waiting

I been dealing with the CA disability system since January after my back went out on a job site. Submitted all my paperwork in February and kept getting those hold messages every time I called. Then last week I finally got a human on the phone who told me my doctor used the wrong code on the form. Three days after she sent the corrected one, the money hit my account. 5 months of stress and rent anxiety gone in one morning. I honestly thought I did everything right the first time. Has anyone else had their payment delayed over something dumb like a code or a checkbox?

Xena_kim that's exactly what my buddy said too. He had his payment held up for two months because the EDD said his doctor's signature was "too sloppy" to read. His doctor had to resubmit the form with a cleaner signature and it went through in a week. The weird part was the first form already had his doctor's printed name and license number on it, but they still flagged it. He almost lost his apartment over a squiggly line that didn't match some computer's idea of a signature.

Honestly "wrong code" sounds like their go-to excuse, my neighbor waited three months over a typo in her zip code.
