Just learned the Commodore 64 had a built-in BASIC interpreter that took up only 9K of ROM

That "cramming a whole programming language into less space than a single MP3 file" thing is wild when you think about it. It's like how we take all this modern memory for granted but back then every byte mattered, and they treated space like it cost money. Kinda makes you wonder what we're wasting all our extra storage on now.

Shoutout to the people who think adding water to soup stock counts as a free meal

Lean into it, maybe that's exactly the vibe his taste buds were craving.

Hit 6 months of working from beaches in Bali before I realized my WiFi setup was backwards

Agreed fully, same thing happened to me. I spent weeks with my antenna sideways wondering why my signal was crap in the back room. Once I flipped it vertical, the range literally doubled and my dead zones disappeared.

Changed my mind about reusable bags after a soggy mess at Kroger

You guys ever seen a watermelon avalanche? My buddy had one skip out of a plastic bag at the Aldi parking lot and roll through three rows of cars before hitting a curb. He bought a stack of those cheap reusable bags the next day and now treats his trunk like a Tetris game.

Spent 3 years packing my carry-on like a stuffed sausage before a flight attendant gave me the look

Oh man, for real? Tbh it took me a solid 20 minutes of staring at my backpack like a caveman trying to figure out fire. Ngl, I even checked the tag to see if it was some kind of optical illusion or a hidden pocket meant for tiny snacks. Honest mistake though, the zipper is so small and tucked away it's basically camouflage. Glad I'm not the only one who felt like a total goofus over a zipper.
