Hot take: I was wrong about needing a wheelchair on flights

Tbh I spent years insisting I had to gate check my chair because I thought the aisle chairs were degrading and unsafe. Then last March at LAX, a Southwest agent talked me into trying their aisle chair to get to my seat. I realized I had been making things harder on myself and the airline staff by fighting it. My chair got handled way worse when I gate checked it, and the aisle chair took five minutes tops. I also found out you can request aisle chair assistance when booking, which I never knew. Has anyone else had a moment where they changed their mind about a disability access thing like this?

But what if you need to use the restroom mid-flight?

Wait, are you asking about space flights or just normal plane rides?
