PSA: got my EBT review letter and it said I missed an interview I never got a call for
I was at the Fresno county office on Blackstone last Tuesday with 3 weeks of pay stubs, and the worker told me my case closed because I "failed to complete" a phone interview that was never scheduled, so I had to file for a hearing to get the $291 back. Is it worth fighting these or do people just reapply and eat the gap?

Skip the reapply route and file the hearing, because reapplying doesn't get your $291 back and the gap just grows while they process a whole new case. The hearing is free and you can do it by phone, and the county has to prove they actually tried to call you, which they can't do if there's no call log. Worst case you lose a few weeks, best case you get the back pay and a paper trail for next time they pull this.
