Hostel breakfast buffet came with a free pet hamster in Lisbon

wait so did you actually eat the croissant after the hamster ran out? cause i feel like thats the real question here. i had a roach crawl across my toast at a hostel in barcelona and i just flipped the bread over and kept going, but a hamster feels like a whole different level of food contamination. were there like little hamster pellets mixed in with the cereal, or was it just vibes?

Saw a farm store selling chicks in January, should we really do this?

Honestly that breaks my heart a little. I lost two chicks last spring to a cold snap and we thought we were being careful with heat lamps and a draft free brooder. It's one thing if you have a seasoned setup with a dedicated heated space, but the average person just isn't ready for that in January. The stores don't help either, they push them out early for sales and folks end up dealing with sick birds before the weather even turns. I get the excitement, we all want spring to come faster, but those little guys deserve a fair shot.

Bought a cheap laser level off a deal site, wasted 3 hours on layout

Always check any new tool against a known straight edge first, that saves you the headache.

A neighbor's blunt note about my free pile changed my posting habit

Isn't that the truth? I had a similar wake-up call when someone asked if the lamp I listed was actually a lamp or a really sad floor plant. After that I started putting stuff on a clean towel instead of the garage floor, and I check the photo before I post to make sure it actually shows what I'm selling. The ruler idea is genius, I've never thought of that but it makes so much sense for people who can't tell if something is mini or full size. Now I even add a little note about the condition, like if it has a scratch or a missing piece, before anyone has to ask. It saves me from twenty back-and-forth messages and honestly my stuff moves way faster too. People just want to see what they're getting, plain and simple.

Just hit my 50th shutter repair this year and it hit me differently

Do you keep a log too? I think the tally is what makes it hit harder than just doing the work blind. Honestly, hitting 50 is a solid flex for a niche skill.
