Shoutout to my old camp stove that finally gave up the ghost
My ancient Coleman single burner just wouldn't light after a cold night in the Adirondacks... the valve was totally stuck. I learned that even simple gear needs a check before you head out. Anyone have a good fix for a frozen valve, or is it time to just replace it?

Try soaking the valve in some warm water first, that can loosen things up. If that doesn't work, a tiny drop of penetrating oil on the valve stem might do the trick, just let it sit for a while. Honestly, those old Colemans are built like tanks and worth fixing if you can. I've brought a few back from the dead just by taking them apart and cleaning all the old gunk out. The parts are usually simple and you can find rebuild kits online pretty cheap. Way better than tossing a perfectly good stove that just needs a little love.

Nah, sometimes it's just not worth the hassle though.
