Went back to the Wallowa Mountains after 15 years and the gear people carry now is totally different.

Tbh I saw the same thing last summer. My old pack felt like a dinosaur next to all the new stuff. Just grabbed a simpler, lighter setup and it made a huge difference.

I used to think it was all about weight, but seeing the new gear out there changed my mind.

It's not just lighter, it's smarter. Fabrics and designs now do more with less bulk. That shift really lets you focus on the trail itself.
