A temp worker in Hagerstown made me rethink how I do my interviews

I was training this guy for a seasonal stockroom gig at my store, and he asked why I kept asking about what he did in his last role. He said, 'You care more about the small stuff than the job title, that's rare.' It hit me that I've been screening for responsibilities instead of habits, like showing up 10 minutes early or which orders they double check. Now I ask candidates about their Tuesday morning routine before I ever look at their resume. Has anyone else switched from skills based questions to routine questions and seen better results?
