Caught between my brother's expectations and my own career path. What's your take?
My bro is pushing me hard to leave my tech job and help with our family's struggling store. He says it's on me to step up and keep things going for our parents. I see his point because the store is their life's work, and it would hurt to see it close. But I've spent years building my skills in software, and I finally landed a role I really enjoy with good pay. If I bail now, I might mess up my own future and regret it later. It feels like picking between letting my family down or giving up on my own goals. How have you all handled similar pushes from relatives about your work?

Have you thought about helping out part time? Your career is important too, so don't throw it away. Maybe you can find a balance.

How do you make that balance work, @joelp81?

Part-time help can be tough if your job doesn't allow flexible hours. @joelp81 makes a good point about not throwing away your career, though. Balancing work and life often means setting clear boundaries at home too. Sometimes it's about asking for more support from family or friends. Finding what works for you might take some trial and error!
