Hit 500 applications submitted this week and it finally clicked why nobody was calling back

I realized my resume was just a boring list of duties instead of actual results, so I changed it to show numbers like boosted sales 15% in 3 months, and now I'm actually getting interviews after 6 months of nothing - anyone else figure out this trick way later than they should have?

Man the whole numbers thing is a game changer but here is the part that got me. I spent two weeks rewriting my resume to be all results focused and then realized my cover letters were still garbage so nobody even got far enough to see the resume. Had to go back and redo those too. But honestly the real trick was when I started putting the number thing in the subject line of my emails to recruiters. Like "Sales rep with 40% quota bump" instead of "Application for sales position." Got way more opens that way. Also stopped using those fancy resume templates cause the computers apparently hate them. Plain black and white text files work better for the automated systems. Took me a whole year to figure that out.

Dude the subject line trick is genius, wish I thought of that sooner. I did the same thing with my cover letters too, rewrote them three times before I realized they were still trash. Plain text files for the win though, those fancy templates always got my resume thrown out.
