Shadowed a new hire for one day, changed how I give feedback
I watched a guy struggle with the same ladder setup I've done for years, but he kept quiet because he thought asking would look weak. After that shift I started showing my own mistakes first, and now the crew actually tells me when something's off. Anyone else start leading differently after seeing their own routine through someone else's eyes?

Why do we always assume the quiet ones are fine? I watched a guy melt down over a simple knot once, and nobody said a word until I messed up a splice on purpose. That changed everything. Now I start every shift by breaking something small on my own gear, just to prove it's normal. The crew finally talks, and honestly, it's way less lonely.
