Team player" is the one that gets me. Saw it on a resume once three separate times in the same page. Like okay, we get it, you pass the ball. The fix is easy though: swap it for proof. "Team player" becomes "ran the Friday demo for a crew of six, kept it under 20 minutes." Now I know something. Same with "hard worker" or "self starter." Those words tell me nothing because everyone writes them and nobody believes them. Give me one thing you actually did and I'll call you back way faster.
