Dropped $150 on a 'career coaching' course that was just someone reading a textbook out loud

I was stuck in my admin assistant job and wanted to pivot into project management, so I found this online course promising a guaranteed career switch in 8 weeks. The lady who ran it had like 10k followers on Instagram so I figured it was legit. Day one she literally pulled up a PDF of a PMBOK summary she clearly downloaded for free and read it to us for 90 minutes. By week three I realized all the 'coaching' was just generic advice like 'update your LinkedIn' and 'network more'. I blew $150 on that and ended up just getting a CAPM certification on my own for less money that actually got me interviews. Has anyone else fallen for one of these 'career pivot' courses that were totally useless?

Honestly I'm not even mad at her for taking your money, I'm mad at you for paying someone to tell you to update your LinkedIn. That's like paying a chef to boil water. Tbh she probably just copy pasted that advice from a blog she found on Pinterest while she was waiting for her Uber Eats delivery. Ngl the real scam is that she made you sit through 8 weeks of that when you could have watched a 10 minute YouTube video and gotten the same result.
