My seam roller snapped mid-install on a McMansion in Scottsdale

The wheel cracked right at the handle during a 400 sq ft living room yesterday, and now I'm wondering if the aluminum ones are worth the extra $30 or if I just got a bad batch, has anyone else had one fail on a tight seam?

Mine cracked on a bathroom wall last month, total pain in the butt.
